I have some interesting photos of my house moving, the house has a max width dimension of about 36 feet and it is 60 feet long. The house was built brand new in a town about 120 miles away from my 16 acres of land. the move took about 1 day and setting it down took about 3 hours.

One word.....Amazing...
Looks very nice. Had to cost a fortune to get it moved that many miles???

Great shots and a fascinating process.

Usual practice in this neck of the woods when moving existing houses is to build the kerb after the house is in position.

Any problems in the wall plates lining up with the kerb?

I saw an episode of "moving house" something like that where they had one of those tilting trailers. It's gotta be the most impressive trailer ever built!!!

Thanks for sharing the pics, it's just amazing that you can move a house for that cheap.

I hope you're sending the mover a Christmas card every year cause he worked cheap. Insurance, permits, fuel, etc, I don't know how he made out on your deal. Neighbor of mine moved a trailor(14x80), 4 miles at a cost of $1600 and that was shopping around to get down to that price.

That was a great job. Was the $3600. getting house off of old foundation and on the new also ?? My sister and B-I-l moved a house 30 years ago and I think it was $3500 1/4 mi and didnt go down the road. What state dio you live in? V

Mike that is fascinating and costs were much more reasonable than I would have suspected. I am curious why a new house was built and then moved that far?

Very interesting project. And like the other guys, I think you got a real bargain on the cost to move that house.

They do have charges for picking up the house on the builders lot and setting it down on my lot. They included all of that in the purchase price of my house. all i had to pay is mileage. but i do beileive the pick up and set down fees are like two thousand. so the total cost of moving is probably up around 6000 when you include the charge for lifting all the power lines, the 120 miles, and the pickup and setdown fees.

i live in SD
