Finally got a chance to do some modifications on my new Mini-Horse stall. So far I've made the doors into Dutch Doors, added vents under the barn edges with screen covers, mounted interior walls up to 4 foot level, and now I'm looking for some sort of Solar lighting that will allow me to have some interior lighting if I need to check on "Trouble" after dark. Gonna work on making ramps for each end tonight or in the morning.

Once we get additional fencing in next week ( if the weather doesn't get here), I have two 36' metal roof pieces left over from my main barn build that I will make a outside open cover for shade for him. Any other suggestions from those of you with horses?

Nice looking set up. You have probably already thought of this but make sure it's set up so the wind and weather is on the backside.

Thanks whistle, I asked one of the folks who lives out here the best way to orient it and this was the direction (N-S) he thought was best. Good part about most of it being a readi-made is that I can move it around with my Tractor and roller logs if I have to. I haven't put the Hurricane ground tie-downs in yet, but they are fairly simple to get in place.

We have a three-sided run in shed 15'x30' that's not anchored down. It survived Hurricane Ike and 84 MPH winds. North to South is best. I built a pole barn east to west. The east side is blocked off by snow drifts when we get a heavy snow. In heavy winds with rain it forces rain water under the front overhead door that faces west.

I have no idea why but when I saw this, the following ran through my head.

"A horse is a horse, of course, of course,
And no one can talk to a horse, of course,
Unless, of course, the horse, of course,
Is the famous Mr. Ed!" :D :D

I'm not really a horse person but my wife is forever addicted to them. Over the years I have grown to enjoy the horses. I do love to see them in the pasture. For me it's well worth the extra effort it takes to care for them.
