I am working on a friends fuel gauge for his JD 4230 tractor and hopefully have it working right. The green lines in the picture represent what the gauge will show for empty (0 ohms) and full (95 ohms). Since he has never had it working since if he purchased the tractor, he does not know if this right or wrong. What the gauge shows now is about 25% full. I had put a stick in the tank 25% seems about right

Before I give him the tractor back, I wanted to know if this is correct.

Thanks in advance for the help.

If you can make a fuel gauge on a tractor work that accurately you are doing pretty good. All of them I have owned are not linear. Some have been better than others, but all are inaccurate.

Some of it may have to do with the fact that most tractor tanks are not regularly shaped. I cannot speak to the JD that he has.
