I’m looking to buy a feed bin for my property, have never installed one before. I can get it there on my flatbed trailer, but how did you guys stand it up? I’m guessing these things don’t weigh much, maybe 1500-2000lbs? I would guess lay it down next to the foundation spot and then raise it up with a tractor or a rope and snatch block?

Yup. Getting some height when you start lifting helps a lot, either with a large front loader lifting, or up and over with a temporary pole. That will reduce the strain on the legs as you start to lift.

Depending on where it is and how far you have to move it, you may need wide load / oversized permits. Check for low hanging wire crossing your planned route. I remember a guy who was late driving his dump truck back to work, and raced to get there in time, forgetting he had the bed up, making his truck closer to fifteen feet. He must have taken out sixteen miles of power and phone lines along his drive.

I would also say get it really clean inside when you get it on site.

All the best,

Peter
