How Do I Disconnect Shut Off Seat?

How do i "Disarm shutoff seat" The seat kill switch? I tried to disconnect the wire under the seat, Nope didn't work. I tried one wire that didn't work either. I would like to be able to turn it on and off when needed. It can be a pain in the butt when using quick attach and loading forks...ie..pallet work and logging,decking,milling and other stand up to see workings. you know what i mean.

any help appreciated.

Not absolutly sure but i think you need to wire them together rather than disinconnect. I think the switch is a nomally open switch that closes when you sit on it.

Just zip tie the arm to the wiring harness in the closed position.

In the attachment is how I wired a push button on off switch. I had to have one so that I could use my post driver.

Sweet diagram! very informative So they have to be connected and i can just splice into the wires and add a toggle switch on/off.?. Thats simple enough /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif TBN /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif.

I will be going to town next week and will be sure to pick up a toggle switch if i can't find one in the resource piles (junk) around here

I used a marine grade switch to be sure that it wouldn't short if it got wet. It's about the same price as the regular versions.

Oh yah keep'em comming its getting even better! didnt even think about that one.water water water. Although im thinking about a marine grade CD player, For my L48.( no good radio signal here)

That seat kill switch can be a real pain in the you know what, when you have to stand at times, I like that switch idea, but what I did was to just use a piece of electrical tape to hold it down, and it comes off easily when not needed.

Thanks. I don't know how your seat is made, but if it is like mine there is a flat area under the runners. I made a bracket out of aluminum angle and stuck it with two-sided trim tape under there. The two strips of trim tape have worked real well. It has been on there for about two years and is still solid. Please don't forget to turn it back on after you get done using it.
