I have a Ford 1620 with a 7108 FEL and I just purchased a backhoe attachment that requires hydraulics in and out.
I went to the dealer and they quoted me $850 for a kit to run hyd to back of the tractor. I have a friend that can make me lines with fittings, I just need to figure out where to tap into the tractors pump and where to return. I have a couple of responses on a different thread about making the subframe and I had trouble following what was done so I think here is where I will be able to get an answer???
What would you suggest is the best way to do this?

Sub-frame and hydraulics are 2 different subjects. $850 seems a bit high for 3 or 4 hoses and fittings to complete a basic power beyond configuration especially if the back-hoe is complete.

Does your BH use two or three hoses?

If you don't need your 3pt while using the BH, you can run a hose from the PB on the FEL valve, if you have PB, back to the rear, terminating in a male QD's. Add a female QD to the hose going to the 3pt.

Plug your BH into the new hose with the male QD. Either run a hose from the tank port to the reservoir, or tap into a return hose which will go to the reservoir.

If you have remotes, you can use them.

When not using the BH. plug the BH supply hose and the 3pt hose together, and the 3pt will work again.

That's how it is done.

$850 for hoses? holy spit was my reaction too , hence this thread.

The backhoe has 2 hoses.
Sorry I am new at this so I am not familiar with all the lingo.
I will not be using the rear pto or the 3 pt hitch when the hoe is on.
In another thread about building the subframe someone intuitively gave me info on hydraulics. The description sounds similar but it was dealing with tapping into the FEL.
It makes more sense to tap into rear hydraulics to keep FEL operational.
Would you recommend putting an additional in line filter before returning to the fluid back to tractor? Or is that overkill?
Thank you for your input.
I feel like I am cheating on my wife with this site, when ever she is not around I am getting "on" it... Lol

What is the Bp on the loader valve?

I believe you are referring to PB on the FEL valve.

It stands for Power Beyond.

That port is a carry over port to the next valve IN port. It is designed to supply full pressure. Every valve in an open center hyd system should have PB except the last valve, and the tank port goes to tank .

Some valves have a PB port, but you still need a PB sleeve or a hex screw to use this port.

If you have remotes, you cant them for the BH. You will have to lock the lever for the BH on by using a bungee or use a detented spool.

You can use an additional filter for the return on the BH if desired.

What the sleeve or hex screw does is to block the open center chamber for low pressure or hig pressure. The PB goes on to the next valve with full pressure. Tank fluid from the cyl goes to tank with very little pressure.

Keep in mind is that although we call it high pressure, that means it has the capability for high pressure. Pressure is developed by the resistance to the pumped fluid. You can use this fluid in many ways, but you can not block the pump flow, as damage will occur. Relief valves are used to prevent this.

One of the three steel tubes leading from/to the loader control valve and the tractor's diverter block is the Power Beyond supply. IIRC it enters the diverter block at the upper rear of the face that has the ports & tubes. This line is removed & discarded, replaced with a short hose that connects via quick couplers to either the backhoe supply hose or its original connection point at the diverter block when the backhoe is not installed. Return flow from the backhoe is ported into the cover plate that caps the 3PH valve located on the RH side of the hitch cover/rockshaft housing. The 3PT hitch and any existing rear remote valve is disabled when this connection is made to the backhoe circuit.
