I am needing a new top link, for my 3-point hitch. The one I have came with the tractor when I bought it used...it is a '77 B7100 Kubota. It has 17hpPTO and so far I have a brush hog and tilter.

I have been looking at Agri Supply® Online Store - Where we have Something for Everyone for your Farm Shop & Home, but there is so many and I don't really know what some of the descriptions mean..ie cat 2 HD, Jumbo, etc. I was thinking this one was the one I want but was hoping someone could help guide me in the right direction....ASC # 11912 Top Link

Thx for all the help, for newbies this site has a wealth of info.

I doubt your B7100 is Cat 2. It probably takes a Cat 1, which has 3/4" pins.

Measure your pins that go into your present top link. If it's only 1/2" OD, then you have a cat. 0.

The top links come in different lengths, too.

If you still have the original top link, just get your measurments from it. I'll guarantee that your 17hp is not Cat 2 and doubtful on Cat 1. So already your have reduced the possibilities by 2/3.
Call the local Kubota dealer, they should be able to tell you what you need.
Good luck.

Kubota B7100 has a Cat 1 3ph. But i was thinking that Cat 1 meant that the pins were 7/8 in. or 22 mm. But maybe that was only on the lift arms and the top link has a smaller pin. On my YM 1510 I know that the lift pins are 22 mm. But I did not measure the toplink pin hole.

The length of the top link is normally given in inches relating to the center barrel length ie. 9 in, 10 in, 12 in, etc." The "standard" length top link will be too long. look for one like your old one or if that is not possible, start small. I am almost sure that a 9 in will work for you or at most a 12.

OK, if cat 1 links are 3/4 inches (19 mm), then is my YM 1510D cat 2? I do not think so. However, the link pins that came installed on the tractor are 22mm or 7/8 inches. I know because 1 I measured it and 2) I tried to put a 20 mm bearing on it but it did not fit and the 25 mm was sloppy. I am looking for the a complete 3 ph and having a hard time finding it. I cannot even find the ends so that I could make my own. It is the toplink which is 3/4 in (19 mm), right?

Mike

Found the answer which is as I suspected. Thanks soundguy!!

The 7/8" lower link pin spacing is 26" and the 3/4" upper link pin is 20" perpendicular to the lower link .

The lower links should have 7/8" pins. The third arms should have 3/4" pins. This would be cat. 1.
There are some odd third arms that use Cat. 2 ( 1") on the tractor end and Cat. 1 (3/4") on the implement end. This odd ball is normally in the 40 to 55 horsepower class.

Another thing. There are different lengths of third arms in the Cat. 1 size.
