Snow How do I mount an MF 2340 Dozer/Snow blade on a GC2300

Hey MisterMike650,

Yes the optional Drive Kit # 8300201 (valid MF number in 2009) is for the optional MF 2360 Snowblower which uses the same quick hitch.

In the first pic showing "Figure 9", for the dozer blade, the pivot bushings are the only item to be lubricated every 20 hours.

Look and see if you have the quick hitch & subframe operator's manual, it's a 20 page paper only booklet (8 1/2" x 11"), and does not have a hard cover front and back.

Also the dozer blade manual is similar but only 16 pages, and the hydraulic angling kit manual is only 6 pages.

Hope this helps you.

Sorry again irvingj, I missed MisterMike650 pic of his quick hitch not having the snowblower kit.

Not a problem! I was surprised to see that MF even made a quick-hitch specific to the blade. I figured they all had those pillow-block bearings and the carry-through short shaft for hooking up the mid-PTO driveshaft.

MisterMike -- next time you find yourself coming up 91, swing by my place and I'd be happy to show you all the "tricks" on the 2300 tractor! Let me know; we're only about 15 minutes from 91 at WRJ, VT, actually pretty close to 89.

To MF Red in MT...the only manuals I have are the GC2300 operators manual, the FEL manual, the mower deck manual and the dozer blade manual. There was nothing for the hitch & subframe or the hydraulic angling kit. I've seen them online for sale, but for now I think the one page you sent me about attaching the hitch to the tractor might get me through for now. I did also buy a download of the GC2300 Tractor Manual workbook for when I get ambitious.

To irvingj....I checked to see where you are in relation to me (probably about 2.5 hours). My wife and I go up that way every once in awhile (we were actually looking to move up north at some point, but haven't made any final decisions). If we do head up that way, I will give you a heads up. It would be great to see you put the tractor through its paces!.

Hey MisterMike650,

You are correct about the 20 page, the 16 page, and the 4 page manuals I listed in my post #11 above.

These manuals were originally used by my MF tractor dealer for assembly of these parts (that's how the smudges on the pages got there), and they do not contain very much information for the owner regarding operation and maintenance.

As you can see in the first 2 pics of my post #9, there is very little requirements for maintenance of these parts in the operation manuals.

And irvingj has very good information regarding 4 wheel carts to store these parts on, I also use carts that are from HF (small cart for the QH, larger cart for the DB).

F.Y.I. I can tell you from experience, when switching out parts that use hydraulic couplers;

1) After you shut off the engine, move your joystick in all directions including the float position to relieve the pressure.

2) And do not touch the joystick again when the engine is running until the new part has it's hydraulic couplers attached.

a) If you do move the joystick while the engine is running, it will create pressure and make it very difficult to attach the hydraulic couplers.

I hope everyone posting has given you some peace of mind regarding installation of your parts, and your missing manuals for your new tractor.

MF RED...really glad I signed up for this website/forum. Very knowledgeable people with good experience. Many thanks to you and irving for getting me off on the right foot. I plan on visiting the site often and sharing any knowledge I may pick up along the way (being a novice, probably not much right now).
I really like the MF tractor and understand their desire to only use MF parts (if they are quality products, I will be sticking with them to maintain my tractor). I am a little disappointed in how much they charge for basic information/operating manuals. Many are online and can just be downloaded and I am sure there isn't any great demand for GC2300 operating manuals (I have this image of these stacked up in a warehouse somewhere many being used for critter nests), but I guess it is what it is (like most things).
