How Do I Set Valves on a D1005 Kubota Engine Head???

Hi,

I cracked the head gasket on my Kubota, and obtained a new head. I have looked everywhere, and need to know how to set the valves on the head. If you have any info, please let me know!!!! ASAP, as I need to get my tractor up and running again!!!!

I replaced both the head and gasket. But from front of the engine, which valve is first, the intake or the exhaust, and so on, like on cylinder 1 which is first or second, on cylinder 2 which is first or second, etc. Not sure, do not have a shop manual, would help alot!!! Thanks for your help!!!!!!!!!!!!

The simple way to explain way is...

Start with the cylinder closest to the front of the engine
turn the motor over until you get the valve overlap
(turn engine clockwise from front, valve overlap is when one valve is closing and the other is opening)
turn the engine over 360 degrees
set valves

repeat for remaining cylinders.

David... look at the valve... if it is in an exhaust port it is the exhaust, if in an intake port its an intake... you did follow the proper torque (49 foot lbs) and sequence on the head right? KennyV.
