Doug, the only adjustment I know of is the pressure relief valve on the hydraulic system. You can get a gauge to check it, although I'd suggest letting your dealer do it. If the relief valve is set to open at too low a pressure, then it can be adjusted and will give your FEL more power, but if it's set properly . . . , well, you may just need a bigger tractor. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Your FEL will only pick up what the tractor will handle. I hate to say it but you need a bigger tractor. If you do more than the tractor will handle you are endangering yourself and your equipment.

Most of us could use a bigger tractor But I have the GC 2310 MF and I am happy with it Problem
being lift capicity my not be set right from factory TOO low..
I was hoping there was a valve setting some where that I could change the setting MORE presure.. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Make sure the relief valve is set to the higher end of the allowable range. Your's may be adjusted on the low side. My BX was about 300 lbs. too low now it's adjusted just a tad over the high end spec. Check your manual for the location, it is most likely on the HST unit but the loader itself could also have one too.

A bunch of the guys had similar problems last year. As I recall, Spencer bought (built?) a pressure gauge that they could hook up to their hydraulics to determine if they had the correct pressures. When one guy was finished making the adjustments, he would mail it to the next guy.

I don't recall everyone that was involved in this process, but I know for sure it was Spencer that started it, and Mrwurm used it. You might PM Jerry (Mrwurm) and find out how they did all of this. I'm not even sure if it just applies to NH tractors, or could be used for other brands. I know Jerry mentioned to me that it improved the lifting capability of his 7308 FEL on his TC30 enough that he didn't need to consider going to a larger tractor.

Good luck!

Doug --

MF claims the lift capacity is 470 lbs. Are you finding that the tractor is not actually able to meet that claim?

May I ask what you arre wanting to lift? Is it a single chunk or could you break the load up into smaller amounts?

Thanks.

Doug, I loaded the bucket of my 2310 with 10 (40 lb) bags of pellets and drove around my back yard . The bucket was about a foot off the ground. I was just trying to get a feel of the machine under a load. Also raised and lowered the bucket several times while sitting still to about 5 ft high no problem. Hope this is of some help.

Al --

MF advertises lift height slightly over 6 feet. Have you tried that with your 400 lb test load?

It is of concern to me because the side of my truck is about 4 1/2 feet high.

Thanks.

Ted, I did not lift to max height, but I did load stumps into my trailer (4 FT) high sides with plenty of clearence. If clearence is an issue bring your truck to the dealer. Or if you are as lucky as I was I got the dealer to let me play at my home.
(Northwood Power Equipment) very pleasent to do business with.
Have fun, Al
