I struggled with attaching my PHD to the tractor but I think I found good and easy method now. I lay the PHD flat with the gearbox supported such a way that end of the top arm will be just about at the height of the top link bracket after the draft links are connected to the draft pins. (Pic 5 and 3).
Then I lift or lower the three point, move the tractor forward/backward or push the PHD until the top link bracket is aligned with PHD top arm.(Pic 4). No heavy lifting or brute force is required.

Hang it.

Most PhDs I know, you just show them the machine and they will think it is cooler than anything they've ever done in the lab. They will be attached until they lose interest, might or might not get much work done.

That doesn't sound bad at all. We just bought a used PHD and were trying
figure out a way of storing and hooking it up without hanging it and that
just might work.

I had a Bush Hog PHD with the optional parking stands that put it in a similar position to the pix shown by Redneck. It still was a PITA to hook up, and after getting it stuck in our claycrete up to the gearbox one day, I said the heck with it and traded it in as a down payment on a lawn tractor.

The trick is to figure how high the support under the gearbox should be before you take the PHD from the tractor.
To take it off the tractor I put the tip of the drill bit on the ground and lower the three point to the lowest position and slowly back the tractor. It will fold the drill bit and lower the PHD arm to horizontal position. Then I measured the distance from the ground to the gearbox and added about 1.5" to it. I cut the support from a large post and placed it under the GB. Then I somewhat lifted the three point so there was not tension on the top pin so I could slide it out. While the PHD was on the ground and disconnected I chained the drill bit to the PHD arm so I could lift it chained to my FEL and place in the shed.
I used to have the PHD hanged but this works better.

I just back it up to a post in the barn, chain it in place, disconnect and drive away. Reverse procedure for hookup...takes 5-10 minutes and no lifting involved.

I just screw it in the ground for storage very easy to hook back up.
