Oil & Fuel How do you change fuel filter 3010 Kubota

Can anyone tell me how to shut the fuel off an a L3010 Kubota so the filter can be changed? When I turn the fuel cock to off and unscrew the glass bowl the fuel keeps running out. Do I have to put a pair of vise grips on the fuel line and if so where is the best place. Thanks for any help!

Turn the fuel cock the other way. on my 3010 it turns both ways. Larry

The shutoff valve should do it. You will lose some fuel regardless. If the valve is not right by the filter it will drain the line in between the valve and the filter. I wouldn't recommend pinching off the line, but it you were to do that, make sure you do not tear the line by using vise grips/clamp with nothing protecting the line from the tool.

Try turning the valve the other way..I would'nt advise pinching the line off at all..also, you may have to bleed the fuel line of air before restart..also, I would'nt try to just clean the filter as some do..they're cheap so just replace it..lots of luck.. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Thanks for the tips but none of them worked. I turned the fuel cock every way you could and the fuel still came out. I ended up putting two pieces of rubber hose over a pair of vice grips and pinching the line off. This stop the fuel from running out so I could change the filter. A local Kubota dealer told me that was how he did it. Dont know what good the fuel cock shut is?
