Hello guys,

I do not see much info on this and it may be a stupid question, but maybe some of you could help me out. I have a 2520 with a 200CX FEL. My quesition is how do I get the FEL into the float position?

Thanks to all in advance.

you push the FEL lever all the way forward until its stops and at that time you push it a little more and you will feel the resistance of it lesson at that point. You will be in float mode then

I checked the JD Owners manual for the 200CX but found nothing. Here is an online view for your reference:

However, on my 300CX, if I push the FEL control lever all the way forward (as if you were lowering the bucket), at the far end of the forward motion you give a little extra push to notch the lever slightly past the stop point detents, the FEL goes into FLOAT mode and allows the bucket to travel up/down as the terrain dictates.

Hope this helps.

Duc i have a Question. as i always do....:D
on the hoe on 2520 if you want to work on pavement
does someone make rubber feet for the pads like a 448 has
those spikes on the 46 would not be friendly to asphalt...:)

And just out of interest . . (I get my new tractor this week) . .doesn't the down pressure lift the front of the tractor? Or does it lift . . then switch to float which then drops the tractor back down?

I saw a reference in the (bad!?) online manual to be careful not to engage "float mode" with the bucket raised as it will fall to the ground . . but no instructions on how to (or not to!) perform that action.

And how does one disengage float mode? . . . does pulling back return to normal duty?

I think thats the way it works. when you push it all the way foward it will stay there til you pull it back. and if the loader was raised you would not want to push it all the way foward til it locked. at least that is my understanding. but once again Duc will have the answer shortly....:)

Yep, that's how it works, the loader pushes down as you move the joystick through "down" and into "float". If you want to avoid pushing the loader down hard, just move into float position quickly (I just shove it forward, click, float mode, no problem takes about 1/2 second).

It WILL drop quickly in float mode, so yeah doing it with the bucket raised, especially with a full bucket, would be loud and dangerous.

Just pull back out of the "notch" feel and the float is off. Going into/out of float mode is like shoving a car into a stubborn gear, like reverse... just a little more shove than you are used to using, and the joystick clearly pops in and out of the "all the way forward" position.

Perfectly clear . . and SO much better than the manual. Thank you!

The 46BH pads are an issue and with the spike shape dosent work on concrete, so Im using blocks of wood ( 2 x 10) until I find something that will fit - bug your dealer about it as well. It was designed to be removed easy, just havent found something that would fit it...maybe something from Woods Mfg would work

with practice you will be able to snap it in and out of float before anything adverse would happen. It is designed for that
