Price Check How do you fairly price an as new Kubota L5450

I have a Kubota L 5450, 5-cyl, direct inject with Top-N-Tilt, Creep Gear, LA1150A front loader and Kubota's Heavy Duty fully hydraulic box scrapper, pre-air cleaner, etc. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif Only has 460 ( four hundred and sixty) hours; includes Bush Hog ATH Finish Cutter 90 inch grass mower; and Danheuser 20 inch augar. All equipment purchased new with complete purchase records. I bought new in spring of 1998 and kept in heated barn and am orig. owner. Mint condition. used it to mow, spread a little gravel on our drive, dig 32 post holes, and tow some firewood back to the house. Previous to this unit I had a Kubota L3650. This unit is a honey, but I am starting to slow down now /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif. How do I go about fairly pricing for sale purposes this unit ? on rosseelsonline.com link asking 19,500.00 for a pretty used tractor only machine; aldermans.com also has just the tractor for 20,000.00 with 1400 hours. If seriously interested, talk to me about it.

One way to think about it is that the tractor compares favorablyy to a new M5700 but the L5450 is stronger and has more features. I think the L5450 is one of Kubota's best-built products. It was ahead of its time, a premium-quality 60 hp unit with smooth hydraulic shuttle. I would think your tractor and loader is easily worth $25k plus. And with the box scraper and 90" mower, you're in the $30k+ neighborhood, and someopne would be getting a good deal at that. Is it on R1 rubber or R4?

On this forum the L5450 is toward the upper end of the power and weight range. But there are a few people who know what it is. You should have no trouble getting a fair price. A new high-quality tractor of the same strength, mass, power and features is going to cost north of $30k with no attachments beyond the loader - and that's if you can find one. Frankly I don't think it exists. The closest Kubota is the L48 but its loader isn't removable.

If I didn't have one already, I'd buy it myself. Sometimes it would be nice to have two....... my wife is terrific - but even she has limits. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I agree that the package should be in that 25,000 range with no trouble. Your hours are quite low and it sounds like it should be like new. They are a very well built tractor and there performance is second to none.

I thought this might interest you Dick. I agree with what you said. The L5450 and of course the L4850 I use which is quite similar other then loader and a few other details really is a great tractor. I spoke with the dealer about these models and why they never sold in great numbers and the answer was basically that even though they were priced right for all they had, they were pushing the $30K range and that area is just not very attractive for compacts. The L5450/L4850 with it's very smooth 5 cylinder diesel is still one of my favorite Kubotas ever made. They really did not have much bad to say about them. For a compact, they were about as heavy duty as you could get. Also easy and fun to drive. Rat.

P.S. If I did not have a tractor, I would seriously be considering this one, if it's in great shape, I'd pay $22 to 24K for a used one. They are that good!
