Don't get me wrong, I love my B2750 blower on my bx1800. it does a fantastic job... but.... once I put it on I tend to leave it on all season because I always spend 15 or 20 min messing around to get it back on the quick hitch. It all boils down to lining up that **** square shaft.
It just doesn't make sense ergonomically the way they have it set up. It is not a very "Quick Hitch" at all. Having to get down in front of the machine trying to line up the shaft that only fits a certain way so you have to reach into the blower to rotate the shaft. And it has to be lined up before you can drive into the hitch. I tried connecting via the spline shaft connector but they put it underneath the quick hitch end where you can barely get your hands in so it's no easier.
I tried doing from the blower end at the shaft under the guard but at that end it is a keyed shaft with a bolt and a set screw. It more cooperative but still not the solution with all the steps and the potential for losing the key.
All they had to do was put another spline shaft connector at the blower end. It's right there in the open. No crawling around and working blind. Even if you had to remove the guard, it's only one bolt that could be replaced buy some kind of pin. It would have made life A LOT easier.
I would like to be able to switch back to the the loader a little easier... there has to be a better way!
Am I missing something here? How do you do it?
Cheers.
