How does automotive type power steering work?

Others may want to try this approach. It's pretty slick actually.

Others may indeed want electric power steering. Many cars today use it. I, however, will nonetheless be using hydraulic power steering.

I will be posting pictures and a detailed explanation of what I did to make it all work. I'll post my mistakes too. I am really looking forward to power steering.
