How does JD110TLB compare to M59TLB?

I tried comparing specs myself but the FEL specs between the 2 machines confused me..

The backhoe specs between the two used different terms as well.

Looking for apples to apples comparison

The M59 is more machine. Lifts more (2,900 vs 2,000), digs deeper (12' vs 10'). It should; it weighs nearly 800lbs more, has 16 more hp. And the MSRP quote from the dealer (Spring '08) was more than $11,000 higher than the "apples to apples" equipped JD110.

JD shaved quite abit off the MSRP. Kubota wouldn't even waste their oxygen talkin' with me.

Realistically, the JD110 is almost lb for lb in line with the L48.

IMO - when a machine lists for more than $61K - you're gettin' real close to big iron... JCB, Komatsu and JD310's.

The JD110 is almost spec for spec the same as the Kubota L39/L45. The L48, and its predisesor the M59 are both physically bigger machines.

Don't know what your needs are but I bought a used JCB 1550-B... maybe 8 years ago? Paid something like 13K as i recall? (really don't remember)

It's got some issues sure... but it digs a 15 1/2' depth 2 foot bottom and will lift something like 6,000 lbs as I recall? (very bad memory so don't quote me, I could be wrong)

If you don't need a tractor portion, looking at some used heavy equipment for a loader/backhoe AND a tractor suited for your needs, might make some sense?

Now is the time to buy used heavy equipment, very reasonable, that's for sure.

Can you shed any light on these issues?

On the loaders, compare the bucket center or 20" forward measurement for the loaders. The others are just big fluffy numbers, but the tractor won't actually lift what they say. Same for the backhoes, ignore pivot pin specs. If your using a quick coupler on the Deere backhoe deduct 10-20% from the specs, don't need to do that on the Kubota.

Neil -- maybe they put "lead in the pants" of the L39 to generate the specs. No way is it the same dimensions as the JD110.

Smaller machine.

The wheel base is 3" different. The Kubota is actually a tad stronger in both the loader and backhoe. Visualy the 110 may look a bit bigger as it uses slightly larger tires, however when it comes to working they are neck in neck with each other. That is what the numbers say...?

Hmm.. 3 inches and a 1,000lbs?

Never seen a posted weight for the 110 with the hoe. Or the loader specs for lift performance 19.6" beyond pivot pins.

Deere doesn't offer that info.
