How does one remove a B7200 Shift Knob

Title says it. I have a new boot to replace my ripped one but cannot get the durn shifter knob off. I can turn it but that doesn't seem to be the key.

You have to turn and pull. If you are picky about channel lock tooth marks on your knob you better order a new one. I have never gotten one off without putting teeth marks in it, usually I just file the rough edges smooth and call it good.
