TS1610. The snap ring at the PTO rear bearing is bad and I need to pull the shaft to replace it. Problem is, I can't figure out how the front bearing comes off. Looks like some kind of split ring on the back side of it, but I don't see anything holding it on from the front. Am I missing something?

I have a TU 1700 and the snap ring has came off a few times. I just remove the rear cover and pull the shaft straight out. There is nothing on the front of my shaft except grooves that drive the PTO. When I replace it holds itself in place. Hope this helps a little.

That wont work on mine. It doesn't have a back cover, it is a solid part of the casting. I will have to slide the shaft out while the bearings and gears slip off and remain in the housing. Well, the bearings can come out of the hole, but not the gears, so I have to take the speed selector linkages loose. I'll take a closer look this weekend, It must have a snap ring behind the front bearing.

Thanks
