Pretty sure lawn and garden tractor turning radius' are measured differently than SCUTs/CUTs. I believe the L&G tractors are measured with a mower deck while SCUTs/CUTs are measured without the deck as the later tractors while used for mowing are used for a lot of other chores so knowing the turning radius sans deck is more appropriate. In any case, I've owned an X485 and currently own a BX and older Wheel Horse garden tractor and there's not that much difference in turning radius. In fact, I'm pretty sure the BX turns sharper than my old WH.
If that's the way it's measured, wouldn't the width of the mower determine the turning radius? A 54" mower wouldn't appear to turn as short as a 60" mower. Are there different turning radius specifications for each mower? I didn't see any different specifications with different mowers or a notation in the footnotes, "with a ___ size mower". The JD 1026r that I drove "appeared" to turn in a larger circle than a X740 or my 345; however, I didn't measure the turning area.
Maybe, I should try turning my JD 345 hard to the left in a full circle as mowing around a tree and measure the wheel tread distance and you can do the same with your BX to see if they are close to the same.
I'm not arguing with you, only trying to determine the facts.
