Hi , I found a used loader for 400$ but for me to mount it I need to know a few details. I was wondering if someone could help me out by letting me know how their loader mounts up to frame on a 1401 or similar tractor. Does it mount just to the bell housing or to bell housing and side of frame(by engine)? I know it also has 2 supports that go to front bumper. Thanks.

Mark,

Directly underneath your transmission you should find four holes with rubber plugs that are inserted to protect threaded bosses. You may find two more on each side of those four. This will give you a horizontal support (girdle) or platform to mount your upright posts. I have crawled under and made a paper template of the exact position and transferred the drawing to 3/8" flat stock and drilled accordingly. You will also be able to make diagonal supports to the posts and tie in to the frame rails.

From there it is a matter of clearance - front bumper and hood, and finally the fabrication of your hydraulic controller valves and taping into pressure and return lines. I hope someone will provide pictures as all of mine are on the other hard drive currently in the pc hospital.

That looks like a steal for the money. Hope it works out well, good luck, Mark

Nice pics, thanks. I see that yours attaches to just your bell housing on each side as far as I can tell. I think that
is the route I am going to take. I think if I don't try slamming into things etc. to hard it shouldn't be a big problem. Hey do you have any pics of how your hydraulics connect. I'm not to sure how I am going to go about hooking up my hydraulic lines yet. The loader came with it's own small chain driven hydraulic pump. Hopefully the loader valve will be compatible with the hydraulics on the 1401... I just need to figure out what fittings, hoses etc. I am going to need. You can see the pump in the first pic I posted of the loader.

Here's a thread where I posted photos for another member who asked the same question.

One comment - I have read of other tractors (not Yanmar) splitting in half when the loader was abused. Note the stiffeners that run from the clutch housing to the rear axle in my photos, I think they take this splitting stress off the clutch housing.

That looks like one strong looking mounting system you have on that tractor. I don't think I need to go that extreme. Thanks for the info.
