We sent today to a John Deere dealership. I wasn't real serious at first about looking at tractors, but we wanted to get one of the chairs they are giving away for our son as he loves John Deere. While we there we did get semi serious on talking still about cutting mowing time down. He showed me a ZTR - nice, and it had a really good price too as it was a municipal rental from last year w/ a still as new warranty. But then I went back to the tractors and we started talking about a 4210 and I expressed that I liked it and just out of curiosity we talked some real quick numbers. He came back less on a 4210 w/ loader, 72" MMM, and rear remotes less then I paid for my TC24. When I talked to them last spring I was thinking about 4115. This same dealer was almost $5k more than what I paid for my TC24. Do you reckon they knew it was my first tractor and thought I was gullable and didn't know what to expect pricing wise and was just at the JD dealership because that is what I "knew?" Now they knew that I know what I should pay and also that there are other brands out there. Don't know just thought it was interesting. My wife did buy some toys for our son though so at least we did spend some money and we promised him we'd go back as son as he (our son not the dealer /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif) started using the potty.

PS I really did like the new Buck. That is one nice ATV. My wife and I both want one. I can't stop thinking about it. Gotta figure out a way to get one? Anybody want to contrib to my collection? Send donations to....... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Jim,
JD equipment is going to have an auction very soon. Supossed to have a few ZTR's in the mix along with CUT's.

Thanks Inspector!
Looks like it should be a good auction. A local here has started a mini tractor business going to auctions around Cols. I bet this is one of em, cause he always had primo JD stuff. I'm considering making the trip over and see how much of a discount you can get.

Do you have any idea how often they have these tractor auctions?

I hink this one is a yearly spring event. There is an auction yard across the road from this dealer that has a Wed&Thurs auction every month.
