My dad has a 2610 yanny and wants to hook up a 3pt log splitter. This sp;itter runs off of the tractors hyd. I don't think it'll be enough to do what he wants? I know there are a ton of variables ( how much psi and volume does trac have vs what does the splitter need) but unfortunetly I have no clue to the answer. Was wondering if anyone has done this before and how well did it work.

I've seen log splitters on much smaller tractors and they work fine. There should be no problems with this one.

generally speaking, it depends on the gpm (gallons per minute) that the hydra system will put out which determines the return speed of the splitter. There are also wood splitters that attach to the the PTO / 3pt hitch which will drive the pump off of the pto, this is maybe a better solution for smaller tractors where the hydra pump is taxed enough already ? good luck.

The 2610 is not a small tractor.

sure, but what's important is the gpm of the pump, and what is the force of the ram cylinder on the splitter. Like if it's a 30ton ram, and the pump is only 12 gpm, the return speed will be slow..

do we know the gpm of the pump in the tractor and the size of the ram cylinder? that's important stuff to know wrt performance of the overall solution..

5.9 gpm at 2500 rpm.
