Kubota B7800
I have 48 hours on this new B7800 in about 3 weeks...Pulled small stumps, cleaned oak leaves off my trails. moved a small shed, tried to lift a few trees that it would not lift, Spread 50 ton of base rock, cut ditches. The most brutal was trying to pull some small stumps..Moving the small shed was a good one too.

This B7800 seems to get quieter after worked for awhile..Think if I hurt something it would be noisier....right?

For a small tractor this thing seems to be a brute....50 hour service next week and I wanna see that hydraulic filter...

What can hurt these things? Anyone have any experience?

I've been running at approx 2300 RPMs

I would say that the only way you are going to hurt that machine is if you outright abuse it. When pulling stumps, I would not suggest getting a fast running start to jar them out of the ground. Besides that, I think that those machines are designed to not let you do things that would hurt them. The hydraulics are designed to bypass before you could blow anything up, so I would not worry about trying to lift things that are too heavy. The tractor will let you know. Simply lighten theload load and continue on. The same goes for pulling. Chances are, you will loose tracting before anything else.

Sounds like you are using the machine for what it is designed for. Have fun!:)

I agree with what kwolf said.
I wouldnt get your hopes up looking at the hydro filter. Chances are the fluid and filter are going to look like they did when they were new. At least mine did. It was one of those things that you would say, jeeze I think I just waisted some money because it didnt look like it needed to be changed. But it needs to be done. Take care of your tractor and it will keep on working for you.

Morning Jim.
Just keep her healthy and she'll keep you healthy...don't load her out.

When you clean the suction strainer don't be alarmed by the metal shavings your going to find. The main thing you DON'T want to see are large chunks of metal.

You won't hurt it by working it. That is what they are made for. Just stay safe with it - for example, it will tip and that will hurt it (and you). But working it hard is just fine.

We've got an M6800 at work that gets absolutely *thrashed*, often by people that I personally think have no business operating a tractor. But since it isn't up to me, it happens. Each time I use the machine, I'm amazed that it holds up as well as it does.

Abuse. I've had one, they are great machines. You've gotten some good advice on safety.

I'd add that you want a counterweight for your loader...otherwise, you can (and will) hurt your tractor, and possibly yourself. The machine is designed to hold the majority of weight on the rear axle. Failure to do that over time will result in a broken axle...rollover... and a hospital (or morgue) visit.

Great tractor. Hope you enjoy safely.
