Broke the bolt off somehow... It is cracked where the threads connect with shaft part of the bolt...

Hey Carl,

Is it a sign? That you need a Cat D6?

I hope it didn't happen in a critical moment...

All the best,

Peter

I guess on the Over Torqued. Can't think of any other reason. Rest of the tractor is fine, and the truth is I haven't been stressing it. One big log the other day with the grapple.... hmmm.. I did pull over a big fur and slabbed it up... maybe that was it.

Looks like your using an after-market top link there. Wouldn't affect it, just noticing.

Do you know what grade the bolt that broke was?

It was probably a grade 2 bolt.

The upper link head may have a sharp edge and if a certain load was placed on the link, it might act like a shear.

On my 1845 I have bent numerous 3/4 inch bolts and also the bracket I had made so I could use a quick attach plate similar to the 422 quick attach plate. I am also using a regular tractor 3 point top link . I don't understand how I am bending the bolts the way I am.

No one has said the grade of bolt they are using.

It is possible to generate a lot of back force by ramming the bucket into something difficult.

Ramming could also cause a large spike of hyd fluid in the cyl, hoses, etc. Work port relief would help in that situation, maybe.

I used grade 2 bolts and I don't know what the pin would be. I only used the setup I have on the 1845 for hauling firewood and chips in the bucket, no hard use.
