... minimum length for a small tractor(40 hp range, ford 2910 w/ loader & a 3000, kubota l4400 w/ loader), and (at least one) disc harrow, bush hog, sprayer, rake?

I wonder if it will all fit on 18' or if I should only consider 20'ers. What is yall's experience?

No, I don't think you will get all that equipment on an 18ft trailer at the same time. Some of it, yes... depends on how well you can pack it on there. This is my 30hp tractor on a 16ft trailer. I could get more equipment on there if I really tried (maybe fit the boxblade under the loader bucket), but it ain't worth the effort. I would rather make two trips unless it was a longggg trip.

I would go at least 20' and prefer a 22' for the stuff you describe. Often, you need a little extra room to get the load balanced right or you may get too much or too little tongue weight. A tractor with FEL and rotary mower take up a lot of room.
As I type, my 24' trailer has my Toolcat, 6' disk and boxblade loader. I am using all 24' of trailer. My TC is probably slightly shorter in length compared to Kubota 4400 with FEL. I would also consider slide in ramps rather than fold up ramps. I like fold up ramps but if you are maxing out the length of your trailer, occassionally you may have a little overhang off the back and then you may not be able to fold up your ramps. I have been there and then have to remove the fold up ramps and store on trailer.

Hauling a tractor with FEL in the air or resting on the rear tailgate or ramps like in Kebo's picture is asking for a ticket in my area. I have hauled with FEL sitting on top of a box blade or something else. I don't know if that is OK but I have done that.

Very good info give. I have a 18' trailer and its all I can do to get my 28HP Jinma with a FEL and a implement. There is no way I could get by with any shorter or with fold up ramps or gate. I have ramps that slide under the trailer.

I dont see many 20' equipment trailers, just a few offered as options, much less 22' and up. Who are some manufacturers? I shouldn't need a 10+ ton trailer for this. Want to keep it pick up sized.

My 3940 with the FEL and a 6 foot bushhog is 24 feet. Now that's complete to the outside of the tail wheel, you could shorten it to 22 with a little overhang. It would also be nice to have a little room to distribute the weight. My 3940 will fit on a 16 foot with the bucket removed but the PHD attached. I bought a 14K 20+5 gooseneck.

Several threads on TBN discussing trailers, length, weight capacity, type of pull. You can search them out for all the rationale and discussions.

My recommendation would be go with a gooseneck, at least 20 feet, make sure it is wide enough to take the tractor/equipment you have or may get in the future, make sure your pickup AND trailer have good brakes.

Many reasons for the above recommendations.

I found it takes a lot of trailer. The naked (no FEL) 265 MF with a very heavy 7' bush hog can take as long of a trailer as the JD 13K backhoe to get the correct tongue weight. With the pintle hitch I like about one to two tons (20%) on the hitch for better ride/control.

How many of you back on to load?

trailering with your bucket resting on the back gate is asking for trouble. high center of gravity can start side to side osillations and fish tailing. I trailer a tr tC 35 with 16ft trailer. I load the bushhog into the back of the truck with the forks and leave the forks and bushhog in the back of the truck while trailering. Keep the FEL down on the trailer deck for low center of gravity. good luck.

x2...that is very unsafe the way you have that loaded. the bucket on the deck of the trailer will also help keep the tractor from rocking side to side on the tires. there is no way to properly secure that loader to the trailer with it resting on the gate like that. it appears you have way too little trailer for that tractor set-up. you'd be better off taking the gate off, and resting what part of the bucket you can on the trailer deck.
