I just completed my 50 hr. service on my L2800HST, and it takes 2 hydraulic filters, one for the tractor hydraulics system and one that filters the fluids going to the accessories that you might have hooked up. And of course a filter for your engine oil.
Beings that I am not rolling in cash, I wish I had asked a few more questions about the first service when I bought the machine. The cost of the filters and hydraulic fluid was a little hard to take. Not that it shouldn't be done, as my new little orange gem is really worth every penny. I have been skidding logs, pushing up brush and making new skid trails with it and it has really made my logging tasks a lot more enjoyable than piling slash by hand and skidding with my Yahmaha Atv.
I don't think that you could mess up and switch filters for the hydraulics as they are two different sizes, one is small and kind of skinny and the other is a lot fatter and I don't think that the thread sizes are the same. The one I got that goes under the fel control side of the floorboard also had some type of magnet in it. The original one did not have the magnet, but the replacement was identical except for the magnet. As this is my first tractor everything that I do with it is a learning experience, thank goodness I have some knowledgeable neighbors.
Hope I haven't confused you. Enjoy your new tractor. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
