I just did the 50 hr. service on my tractor, the dealer told me that there was only 1 filter. I replaced the one on the loader control side with the one they gave me. There is also a filter on the left hand side, did I put the right one in the right place? The part number for the filter is 3A431-82623. Do I need another of the same filter or a different one? Do I have it on the right side? It does take all super udt right? HELP!

Yes, thats the right filter for the hydraulics. Didn't he give you an oil filter? The HST must have one additional filter for hydraulics cause the gear model only calls for one hydraulic filter. Thats where the deal went wrong at the parts counter. Go back and get the other filter. I don't know the part number for it.

You would think that it all uses the same oil that the filter I replaced was the only one. 2 different filters for the same oil? I just wanted to make sure I had the right filter on the correct side. Have you checked out the new Sims cab yet? I think I need one- it gets cold up here in the winter. It may be too hot in the summer though.

I just completed my 50 hr. service on my L2800HST, and it takes 2 hydraulic filters, one for the tractor hydraulics system and one that filters the fluids going to the accessories that you might have hooked up. And of course a filter for your engine oil.

Beings that I am not rolling in cash, I wish I had asked a few more questions about the first service when I bought the machine. The cost of the filters and hydraulic fluid was a little hard to take. Not that it shouldn't be done, as my new little orange gem is really worth every penny. I have been skidding logs, pushing up brush and making new skid trails with it and it has really made my logging tasks a lot more enjoyable than piling slash by hand and skidding with my Yahmaha Atv.

I don't think that you could mess up and switch filters for the hydraulics as they are two different sizes, one is small and kind of skinny and the other is a lot fatter and I don't think that the thread sizes are the same. The one I got that goes under the fel control side of the floorboard also had some type of magnet in it. The original one did not have the magnet, but the replacement was identical except for the magnet. As this is my first tractor everything that I do with it is a learning experience, thank goodness I have some knowledgeable neighbors.

Hope I haven't confused you. Enjoy your new tractor. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Ok, so the one on the right side (loader control) is the side for the part number I listed, correct? My new one is black, I don't remember a magnet either. My new oil filter is white and the old ones were gray. Do you know the part number for the left side one?

Question for DA1BAR. I have not hit 50hrs on my L3400HST yet. How long did it take you to do the entire 50hr service? Do you have any helpfull tips that you learned like next time I would do something a different way? Thanks, Brian
