How many hours are ok on a NEW tractor

/ How many hours are ok on a NEW tractor #21
Well my new tractor with 10 hours was just delivered last week and I sent it right back. At home, I noticed that the loader frame was bent a bit. It is only off by 1 inch, but this is a new tractor. The scratches on it did not make matters any better. I did not scan it over in crazy detail at the lot because...IT IS NEW and I should not have to give it a 30 minute physical. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Fortunately, the dealer gave me zero issues and had a replacement ready for me to inspect quickly. Now that I have looked over number two, I am ready for my delivery. /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

It was quite a buzz kill to have a new tractor in the garage for 4 days and not be able to use it because it was going back. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Wish me luck, it should come for the weekend. As far as buying one with 10 hours, I think this was a stange, rare event Like many of you said, it all depends what was done in those 10 hours.

I like my dealer and when I am nearby I tend to stop in and say hello, and if things are slow we talk a while. They treated me fair and they are honest and what more can I say. I feel good when I stop in and so I stop in frequently, maybe once a month or so.

Anyway, today I stopped by and we had a chance to talk a while. For some reason or other, the discussion moved to how dealers get inventory from each other, trading back and forth, etc.

My dealer mentioned an experience he had with one dealer that he doesn't do much inventory trading with. He said one time he did need a certain tractor, and that that dealer had one, and so he sent his driver over to pick up a tractor that was supposed to be new. When it arrived it had 27 hours on it and some scratches and/or dents. When he saw it, he told the driver not to unload it, and to take it right back to the dealer it came from.

There may be a message here...I found it interesting to hear this as I remembered this thread...He said somethink like "it was supposed to be a NEW tractor..."
