Our local newspaper has a Sunday insert titled "USA Weekend" and today's edition stated that the average adult devotes 11 hours a day to digital media and 23 hours a week texting. Should their reporting be accurate, I find it simply inane that anybody would be that devoted to staring at a screen...I might watch TV an AVERAGE of one half hour a day at most, boot up my laptop (to pay bills and check here on TBN) 15-20 minutes a day, and although I have a smartphone and can use it to access Facebook, etc. I might use it half an hour a day at the most. Texting? HAH !!! 30 minutes a week would be about my average.
No wonder the population is getting so lazy and out of shape, staring at a screen is nothing but sedentary activity. As for me, today I have been pushing a mower and toting around a weedeater for three hours, weeding flowerbeds, cleaning up the garage, and replacing downspouts on the house...I am getting fresh air, sunshine, and exercise. More people need to realize they don't need to be connected 24/7/365....shut off your electronic gizmos and gimcracks and do something worthwhile. Will not be back on TBN for a day or two so feel free to disagree with me on my biased opinion.
