How many hours is ok on a used JD?

Personally, I'm a "green" guy, but, if Cream and Gold work for you, go for it!! My Dad had a CC for about 15 years, and when he traded it (on a JD /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif ), he got about what he paid for it.

In my area, there is a JD dealer about 200 yards away from the CC dealer, and on Saturday mornings, it's fun watching the pick-ups go from one to the other, then back again. Probably an equal number of each are sold.

If judging by the price range you were looking at for a used machine, a few dollars more brings you to Cubs 3204, which I have and speak highly about..

Hi PeterT -

For 2004, the 3204 has a 23 HP (was a 20 HP last year).
The price also increased a tad - from $4800 to $5000. But we're getting a really nice trade-in allowance on our old White, so we're happy. : - )

Speaking of trade-ins and cost...since the trade-in amount we were given was decent, we didn't even try to dicker the sticker cost. Was that a mistake? I read somewhere that 10% off is common, but from what the sales rep was telling us, their profit margin is fairly small (like maybe $500 a machine, which IS 10% on this 3204). What do you guys think?
