How many Hydraulic lines on a 3pt implement?

I have a 1966 Ford 3000 Tractor. I rented a lime spreader to lime my pastures. It had two hydraulic lines on it , but, my tractor only had one line for the 3pt implement. My friend spread the material with a larger Kabota.

My questions are:
1. Is it possible to use such an implement with only one line?

2. Is there an after-market kit that would modify my tractor for two-line implements?

I am sure that I am not the first to encounter this problem...I'm hoping someone can help.

If you only use one hydraulic line, you will lose the use of the function that the other hydraulic line controls. You can definitely get aftermarket kits to add more rear hydraulic remotes.

Your tractor has "one way" hydraulics. It will force a cylinder one direction and then relies on load pressure to force it the other. So for a wheel disc, or wheel field cultivator for example, your hydraulics will lift the implement off the ground and depend on gravity to lower it.

As for question 2, that one's beyond me. Hopefully JJ will see this and answer that. He's my "go to" guy for hydraulic issues.

Why not install a new remotes that will do what you want. You can set up your valve to include things like , float, detent, motor control, SA cyl, DA cyl, etc.

It appears your tractor is setup for a SA cyl.

A single hyd line can run a SA cyl, or run a hyd motor. The motor return goes to tank.
