I checked the mail today and found a package from AGCO. I thought this was strange as I had not placed any orders. I opened the package and found this nice gift box containing a card thanking me for buying a MF, nice quality hat ("limited edition owner's hat" according to the tag :)), a MF key chain, a accessories catalog, a brochure about the history of MF, a copy of the MF magazine, a coupon for 20% off at the MF web site and a feedback card.

I think this is a really nice gesture coming from such a large corporation. It is more interaction then I ever got from any auto manufacturers after buying a new car. It makes you think the people at AGCO actually care and go out of their way. I just wanted to share. I guess not all big, international companies are soulless.

Hey tsteahr, I just received the same gift package from AGCO this week! Kudos to AGCO and Massey Ferguson!!! The only difference from your package and mine is my MF coupon is for 15% discount, but i did also receive a small package of Massey Ferguson "Red Licorice Candy".
On the big corporation thing:
The only thing we Montanan's ever got from General Motors Corporation after all of us USA taxpayers bailed their butts out is, they canceled their contract with Stillwater Mines in Montana and then purchased the needed product outside of the United States.
I would buy more MF products, but never another GM product. KC

Guess that's a 2400 series gesture... All I got was a hat, and that was from the dealer.... (But I'm still glad I bought the tractor!!:D)

All the smart companies do this kind of stuff. It's called marketing. This is in the chapter on developing brand loyalty.

Looks like it worked, for about $8, they have you raving.

I don't need a hat, I need them to help me if there is a problem with their product.

So far, I have not need them. But, from what I have seen, as far as others who have, MF Corporation has passed this test.

All I ever got from Kubota was a survey about dealer performance. Other than that not a thing. Kubota are you listening!

Usually with all brands we get Jackets caps,Ertl models,Keychains etc.And in the UK we always got a couple of pairs of the brands coveralls.
I do remember years ago IH on a certain model were handing out a hold-all bag with a 12v TV , Jacket, cap, thermos flask and some other stuff..Needless to say a very popular model..????. I don't think i've had anything off agco..???

I'm glad you got the gift and glad you are pleased with it. It's a nice gesture. I doubt that it really maens that they have a soul.

I got a nice pair of gloves from Deere, way back when.
Didn't affect how well I liked my Deere, but nice tight fitting stretchy gloves. Too nice to wear for working.
Got a Deere hat too, but that was from filling out a questionaire on my new purchase.

Perhaps the word soul has different connotations to different people... I can say the two occasions I have contacted ACGO, once by phone to to AGCO publications and once by email to the general information address, the interactions have been very positive. Both times the people who responded were sincere, down to earth and helpful. I mean honestly sincere, not the patronizing scripted responses that customer service reps are trained to say when calling help lines. You know those scripted responses, the cs rep says in a flat tone how they "understand your frustration". Drives me up the wall.

I fully realize one person's experience doesn't mean much, but my experience with AGCO has been atypical of my usual dealings with big companies.
