My first post :)
I love mine, I have only racked up 30 hours on it since i got it last summer. I cant believe how many negative comments you can find about them on the internet.
Oh dont get me wrong, have seen a lot of wonderful things said about them as well.
maybe thats what it is, the happy people dont sound off as much as the unhappy ones.
I bought it because I mow three large yards , mine , my moms , my mother inlaws. all big lots in the city.
I was push mmowing all three but that was taking up a lot of my spare time on the weekends.
I love this thing it cuts smooth & evenly from the day I purchased it from home depot , yep HD. I have not thrown the belt not one time ! not even in thick moist grass at least 12 inches tall, i did have to go over it more than once though because it clumped toether as it was being discharged from the chute.
I did burn the belt off of it once because I put it back on wrong after removing the deck to sharpen the blades , i smelled it burning for some time before it broke , had i stopped in time it would not have happened.
I recently added a ball mount to it to move my trailer around & to haul light weight stuff around the yard with. does anyone else pull a trailer with theirs & if so how much weight will an LTX 1045 pull safely.

According to the Cub Cadet website the largest towed accessory for the LTX1045 is the 15 cubic yard poly cart with a load capacity of 900 lbs. Nowhere in the manaul or specs do I see a max towing capacity.

Thanks for the replys, real good info, I just had to copy it & paste it down below. thanks again.

What is the towing capacity of my Cub Cadet tractor?

This is a more complicated issue than it might appear, because "towing capacity" is more of a sales specification than a technical specification. If you picture yourself pushing a wheelbarrow full of dirt, weighing about 300 pounds, you would say that your pushing capacity was 300 lbs, but I doubt you would be able to push 300 pounds if it were on a flat sled with no wheels on rough ground. That is a simple analogy explaining why we don't use towing capacity as a technical specification.

Everyone likes to relate axle torque to draw bar force, but draw bar force cannot so easily be related to "towing capacity" due to all the variables involved. There is also a difference between a maximum axle torque (or draw bar force) short duration spike compared with what can be sustained over a long distance such as in towing. On most surfaces, unless you significantly weight down the tractor, you will generate tire slippage before you reach the transmission's ability to create maximum axle torque.

The 1000 Series & LT1500 Series can handle a typical lawn cart with a 750 lb. capacity and a lawn roller of 650 lbs.
The iSeries can handle a lawn cart with a 1500 lb. capacity and a lawn roller of 950 lbs.
The GT1500 Series can handle a lawn cart with a 1500 lb. capacity and a lawn roller of 950 lbs.
The 2500 and 3000 Series can handle a lawn cart with a 1500 lb. capacity and a lawn roller of 950 lbs.
CAUTION: You should also be cautious of "braking ability". These tractors have a single disc brake designed to stop the weight of the tractor on slight grades. When you are towing downhill your braking distance will significantly increase. As a general rule of thumb, using a single-axle wheeled trailer you should be able to pull half the weight of the tractor safely over level ground and slopes less than 5 degrees.

I made it out of a elevator rail wall bracket I got from the elevator service guys at work.
it is three eight inch thick hardened steele, tough stuff , over kill really.
I cut it down to size so that my trailer would ride level (about 16 & a half inches off the ground) & welded it back toether with My little wire welder I got from harbor freight.
it did a good job but the wire size was too small & I ended up going over the weld more than i should have & since it was my first time using it some of the metal cold lapped untill i got the temperature right.
any way.
I just used the existing hitch hole at the bottom & Drilled a small hole in the middle of the frame for the center support & bolted it on , also used big flat washers & lock washers as well.
I had an extra 2 inch hitch ball laying around i could use for it, even at that you can get them pretty cheap just about any where.
It was easy & most of all free. It works well for what I am going to use it for.
I am sure you could build something similar without having to weld it .I wish someone else would post some pictures of theirs.
