I just got my Yanmar 2000 no manual or anything, just a bill of sale. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
I was wondering if someone would tell me how many qts it takes for an oil change and also maybe a part number for a Wix filter, or any other filter. Thanks.

Congratulations,
The YM2000 is a great tractor. I am still amazed at what mine will do.
According to the Yanmar Operation manual for the YM240 ( US version of the 2000 ) the crankcase capacity with filter is 5.3 quarts ( 15W-40 Shell Rotella) and the Transmission hydraulic system is 16 quarts hy/tran fluid = to JD 303 or better, NAPA filters - oil- 1064 ( WIX 51064 ), fuel-3262 ( WIX 33262 ), air- 2297( WIX 42297 ). There is also a filter screen for the trans\hydraulics. Good idea to change your fuel filter often as well. Be sure to get an over-run clutch before hooking up to a mower. Be sure to pick up a manual too. Get the YM240 manual if you can find one, The Murray manual for the YM2000 leaves a lot to be desired.

Hey, Thanks for the info. I already have the over run clutch. it came on it. It was in great shape when I bought it. 400 actual hours for $3,600. I already bought the 5 ft Howse Brush Hog and a 60 inch Ber Vac snow blower. I even built a new Garage to house it in. I guess that is why it has been so mild so far this winter. If I wasn't prepared we would have 3 ft. of snow by now.
Thanks again !!!!

Hi BruceR, I've been waiting for Murray to come out with a manual for the my 2610, can you or will you tell me what leaves a lot to be desired in yours, do you think I would be better off with a US manual, I have a lot of question like oil amount....... Thanks Robert

Robert,
I don't know if you can get a US manual for yours. The 2000 series just happens to be the same as the YM 240 that was sold over here. I have seen two Murray manuals and the quality of the printing is not what you would expect to pay over $30 for. It's a poor copy of a poor copy. If you are old enough to remember mimeograph copies from grade school then you can visualize what I'm talking about. One of the books was so poorly printed that I could not even read the Troubleshooting section. Most of the info is of a generic nature, so you could probably do with any 2X10 manual.
In my YM2000 manual, for example, the Controls & Instruments section shows an example of the 2000B dash panel with full instrumentation and a note that "Your dash panel may look slightly different". Just so happens that I have a 2000B, but what about the majority of YM2000 owners who have lights on the dash instead of gauges ? No explanation at all for them.
I would scan a few pages and show you what I'm talking about, but the first page is taken up explaining that Reproduction and distribution of their product in print or electronic format is a FEDERAL CRIME ( 1" font ) even though this manual is mostly pirated from US Yanmar manuals.

Hoye Tractor has manuals for the YM2000. But he don't have them for the 2610 as far as I know.

Thanks pruntyc and BruceR, sounds like a very poor quality manual. think I will check on the US manual. Robert

Ouch.... tough crowd /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

The YM2610 manual should be available by the end of the month. Ym2610, if you email me your address I will send you the 1st copy for free and you can review it here. I think you will like it.

As far as the other manuals go- are they perfect? Absolutely not. Are they exactly what we had hoped for when we started this project? Not quite. As with anything in life this project was a long string of compromises. It would be nice to be able to produce a nice glossy color manual like the guy down the street got with his Deere. We went that route. We felt it would be too hard to sell a manual that cost us well over $100 a piece to make. You have to remember that Deere & others can produce tens of thousands of manuals which brings the cost WAY down. In the last year we have, maybe, received 10 requests for a 2610 manual. Multiply that by the $34.99 price and see how far you can get producing one of these for around $400. You just can't afford to throw tons of man hours at it to make everything perfect. You start with a list of things that are important and work down.

We were able to produce a manual that had the information that the majority of the customers were looking for and 99.9% of the customers have been very happy with it. Look at our reviews on Ebay. Look at other dealers selling them on ebay. Look at some of the comments here. They are a good manual and offer valuable information.

There are 2 copied sections in the manual. A wiring diagram from the Japanese manual (why re-invent the wheel) and a troubleshooting section (added somewhere next to the last minute because someone asked for it). Both are completely usable.

FYI We are in the middle of preparing a 3rd edition of the operation manuals. We are correctiong some of the cosmetic issues and making the manual a little easier to use.

Hi Aaron, first let me apologize /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif, my comments was not a attack on you or your manuals, 9 out of 10 of your request for the 2610 manual was probably me /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif, well at least 8 /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif, I"m very new to the whole tractor thing, have a very lot of questions, I could post them here, but was just thinking a manual would answer the really dumb ones, I think I speak for most Yanmar owners when I say, I or we really appreciate the job you, your source and others on here do to get us manuals and parts, the thing about the manual is that being new to this, I thought it was model specific, and if it is very generic as stated, I would just get the US model closes to it, if you think I will be happy with it I can wait, sorry for asking for one so many times, I guess I'm to impatient some times, I know with a Yanmar and other thing in life it just sometimes takes time. Aaron I hope this explains what I meant, if not let me know and I will call you, keep up the good work, and I might take you up on the first manual thing /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif, but my email and your email never works for some reason /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif, don't know why........Robert
