Its almost time to change the Hydraulic Filter on my Kubota L3010 again.
If Im really quick and not to spastic I can do it without losing much more
than a quart of fluid but sometimes more and always messy.
I keep thinking there must be a way to do it without losing oil.
Ive thought about trying it on a side hill. Or draining out 5 gallons then
putting it back in. But that seems like to much work.
Does anyone have a way which avoids the spillage and mess??

thanks
Gordy

On my filter change on an M7040...I cleaned a 5 gal bucket so it was spotless....and cleant the filters and the moutning area the same way. I changed the two filters as fast as I could, and had 3-4 gal in the 5 gallon bucket....when done, I just poured it back in.

So my loss was nil.

I use a hill side which is pretty steep. May loose a half cup.

There was a post on here awhile back about this.

Simple answer...put a shop vac over the fill port. Creates a vacuum and you don't lose any.

i guess i need to read my owners manual a little better. I swore it said to change both oil and filter together.

This site is full of great ideas from clever people. I love it.

The sde hill and shop vac methods sound great.
Ill try the shop vac method this time and stay in the garage.
My manual says change the filter when you change the fluid at
400 hrs but also just change the fliter by it self every 200 hrs.
