How much is a mulching kit for a 54C MMM?

I know I should just call the local dealer for this info but not wanting to talk to anyone since I spent 3 hours there yesterday. Walked in with an idea of a 3K budget to buy a riding mower and walked out having purchased a 2305. Ecstatic about getting this tractor delivered this week and just curious what the kit will cost if anybody out here has purchased one recently.

Just got a kit for a 62D, It was approx $200. I have yet to mow with it, the kit includes plastic inserts and new blades.

I also got the Mulch kit for the 62D for I think $180. Assuming the one for the 54C will work as well you'll be pleased. The mulch kit for the 62D kicks *****.
We've had a ton of rain and hot humid weather here so the grass is still growing like you wouldn't believe. I've mowed two weeks (Tall) of grass and maybe slowed down just a tad, but the mulch kit didn't leave any clumps behind. With weekly mowing (usually what I do when it's growing fast) it'll mulch it up very fine and leaves a great clean finish.

I wish I could get a mulch kit for my 84" RFM (FM1084R) but I've been told by the dealer he can't get one for it. (Also not listed in the manual as an accessory). I could have sworn I made sure it would take a mulch kit when I got it. Anyway, maybe I'll try some Gator blades or something.

Question for the guys with mulch kits:

Do you notice a substantial reduction in the amount of grass buildup on your tractor grilles with the mulch kit, as compared to mowing without it?

yup. Only time I ever get anything on the grill is when I mow waterways and the grass is very tall (>10-12") and has a lots of dandelions. Otherwise, i rarely have to clean it.

I paid $163 for mine ... may get yours for less. Better cut, less on the grill, 25% more nitrogen for the grass, less fertilizer ... mulch the leaves in the fall ... less dust and dirt stirred up.

FYI, a 1/2 acre yard will produce 5,500 pounds of grass clippings in a normal growing season ... mulch it for the soil and grass!

Nice... Go out looking for a $3K mower and end up with a $13K machine. LOL!!! Welcome to the club, Wayne!

I have the same thing - 2305, 54C deck w/ mulch kit, and you'll absolutely love it. You can cut all day long in high gear, if you can stand the ride. The mulch kit is easy to remove (~20-30 minutes, incl deck detach/attache on the tractor) for those times you may not want to use it. I remove my mulch blades when I trim the road shoulders - no sense in beating up the good blades for rough work - and only mulch the yard.
