I see there aren't near as many threads about them on here as there are about Deere, Kubota, and NH. Shoot, even Kioti and Mahindra have more threads. Is the number of threads significant of the market share of these brands, or are certain brands just hyped up on the internet?

Massey doesn't have the market share in the U.S. that it used to have. I think they're still the largest brand in the world, but they've let the U.S. market drop out of their scan. You can't judge sales by the responses on these internet sites though. Before I came on this forum I'd never heard of a Kioti. To this day I've still only seen one Kioti dealer and he had three tractors on his lot, which was essentially the side yard of his house. If you went by what you read on these boards you'd think they were rivaling kubota in sales.

Yea, I concur. I don't think that I've ever seen a Kioti or Mahindra tractor before but there's still plenty of old-school MF, JD, and Kubota's running around here.

It does seem to me like the MF forums here have dropped in traffic since I originally bought mine two years ago. Maybe the economy is part of the reason?

The best tractor dealer around here is a MF dealer. Prices on MF tractors are very competitive, too. I've seen Kiotis, Kubotas, New Hollands, and numerous other tractors and Massey's 1500 series is as good as any.

However, the 1500 series loaders aren't quite up to the level of the competition, though. MF could stand to increase the performance on the 1500 loaders, if you ask me.

Tractor for tractor, I'd just as soon take the Massey and there are a lot of red tractors around these parts, so lots of people here agree with me.

Funny you guys are all talking about this...
I am a Kioti and Mahindra dealer and I just signed my contracts with MF
We decided to take on MF because the market in my area was strong at one time but since the MF dealer gave shop up a couple of years ago thete are tons of people still running them and need parts for them.
Plus we can tackle more of the gov't bids.

Good luck with the new line! The old Masseys seem to run on forever. The Heritage Parts line will draw you plenty of business on its own. I like what I'm seeing from MF/AGCO. I'd bet the future is bright for Massey Ferguson. It sure looks like they're beginning to make a concerted effort to regain market share in the US.

Please pardon my ignorance but where are Kioti's made? Mahindra sounds like it's from India but I really don't know. Thanks

One reason I think you don't see as much on MF on these sites is they are most often bought by people who already know or have a Massey so they don't ask the same questions. But in my part of the world they are not near as popular in the say 50 hp down market where I think most questions come from. The 100 hp up tractors don't make up much of the questions I have seen at any site such as this. Those guys normally have a dealership who they trust greatly.

At same time MF is now part of Agco if memory is correct.

On the Mahrinda am right sure it is made in India and Kioti is Korean. Have read recently the Kioti with white paint is the Bobcat tractor. Not sure if that is correct or not. kt

I believe I read somewhere that Mahindra --which I also figured was Indian-- is actually made by Mitsubishi-- can anyone confirm this? Don't know WHERE it's made, however....

10 series are Mahindra badged TYM's from Korea.
15/16 series are Mahindra badged Mitsubishi's from Japan.
Most all others are made by Mahindra in India.
