I think that maybe the 5030 (and maybe even the 30 series) uses dual cartridge type filters (inlet and outlet) instead of a screen.

All tractors are not created equal.
You can search till the cow's come home and you won't find a separate strainer on the grand L, it's been incorporated into the spin on filter in the pump supply line on the tractors right side, it's the one with the original ring magnet.
In this respect the grand L is superior to those with mere strainers, and I might add, more costly to service as a result.
