Mowing How much slope is too much?

Flusher:
Why do you suggest I bought the wrong tractor. I feel like I did my homework before I spent that much money. I realize I need to widen the tires, but this tractor was much heavier than the other options out there. What did I miss?

Homework? And still you're anxious about mowing your slopes. I'd say you might have underestimated the problem you've encountered in that area (stability on slopes). That was the point of my earlier comment. My 10 acres is flat as a pancake. But if I had steep slopes that concerned me when mowing, I might have checked with someone who has experience mowing slopes. For example, the county or state highway departments would be a good source of information on which tractors to consider and ways to set them up to mow safely on slopes.

Again--good luck and be careful out there.

I did as you suggested. The issue is I just don't have much experience on this type of tractor and have never been on the property I am trying to bushhog. I am sure someone with experience would take my tractor and do all the cutting that needs to be done. The county and state here use alot of New Holland equipment. I am not having issues with slopes on my place as I have not even gotten my tractor out there, yet. Just trying to mow a friend's property that lives by me and I am very unfamiliar with his place, so thought I'd ask the question. All gave good advice and you did too...just often wonder why folks would suggest you bought the wrong anything after the purchase has been made. I'd say you may have made alot of assumptions that weren't included in my initial post.
