This last weekend we held a massive yard sale at my place. I used every table I could find, made tables out of sawhorses and OSB. But still needed more table space. So I put a sheet of OSB on my (new) forks and parked my tractor on the side of the sale. Instant table!
So MANY people offered to purchase my tractor! I know there is a shortage, but sheesh! I started to entertain the idea though....
"Is the tractor for sale?"
"YES! It is! And it comes with all the implements! Asking $110,000 firm."
Most people balked at that price, but a few appeared to consider the idea! They even wanted to see my collection of implements.
I didn't come up with $110,000 willy-nilly. Thats exactly (roughly) what I have into everything including the upgrades. And those prices are the new prices, and this tractor and equipment is not new anymore. But with inflation, shortages, and asking to buy something that is not listed as being for sale, I think it's more than a fair price.
Fortunately, no one took me up on my deal. Afterall, I really don't want to sell my beloved tractor! Everyone is looking for a great deal, otherwise they probably wouldn't be at a yard sale. And times are hard, but if you seriously want what I have and what I need, then you'll pay for it. With that much money, I could buy a new machine, maybe one of the newer MT series!
The yard sale went very well! Put some money in my pocket, but more importantly, got rid of a bunch of clutter! I still have my tractor and all my attachments. Fortunately, I'm not shopping for any tractor anything at the moment. It really made me grateful for what I do have.
But would you pay out the nose for a well loved on tractor and implements if you didn't already have one?
Just thought I'd share.
