If a manufacture would guarantee and a dealer would back it up.
A 10 year bumper-to-bumper warranty on a new tractor. Free Pick up and delivery for any service and warranty work .. Most service related issues and maintenance would be returned or ready for pick up within 48 hours.

I don't think one can answer that. I got extended warranty on my Duramax and never used it once. I never get extended warranty. If the truck had turned out to be a lemon, I would have done well. It's almost a question one can only answer in hindsight.

Also, the dealer would have to consider a customer farther away as more of a risk. I also don't think a guaranteed turnaround time is a possibility. Too many factors beyond a dealers control.

The question would be more, how much would a manufacturer or a dealer charge for that, and would you pay THAT. Twice the tractor price MIGHT not be enough.

I’ll answer the question. If this particular made up manufacture and Dealer was out there. Offering the services. For me paying 10% more for identical tractors would be worth it. But that’s me for the piece of mind and convenience knowing that my tractor would be repaired and returned quickly
so I don’t lose time out on the field.

I would wonder why the manufacturer was offering that on the tractor. Is this a new manufacturer that's never built a tractor before and is trying to break into the field? Is he trying to recover from a spate of bad PR and/or a series of reliability failures? I would be leery of the manufacturer just because it is so different from everyone else. This manufacturer is basically reinventing the wheel and diverging from the norm. Now, dirvirging from the norm is a good thing (some call it thinking outside the box), but being outside the norm also makes people nervous.

Mate, it all depends on where you live. Here in Tassie a dealer's reputation is KING... which is why very little advertising is done on this Island State. It's a somewhat closed market yet all 'colours' are available.

If a dealership doesn't back their product 'word gets around' and their sales plummet, and the opposite is true; if they go the 'extra mile' then they get business.

It was the deciding factor for my going with JD here and they haven't let me down, even though I have a SCUT in a heavy Ag environment. I constantly read, here on TBN, about how much more expensive a JD tractor is and that others won't consider them because of that. Well, that's their decision and I hope that their dealership backs them up with service/parts availability... mine does.

Trick question...There is no guarantee the manufacturer will even be in business in ten years...let alone a dealership...and to the best of my knowledge the 3-4 manufacturers that will most likely still be in business in ten years are not offering such a warranty etc..

I got a 10 year/2,000 hour warranty, but it is only engine/trans/axles/diffs/pto internals. Definitely not bumper to bumper. I was going to pay for it, but they threw it in on a Black Friday deal.

Not even a penny... I've had the tractor 15 years and never needed my dealer (which went out of business). I was looking to buy a good, inexpensive tractor that I could afford. I'm guessing that a 10 year/2k hr warranty would most likely cost more than what I paid....

That’s awesome that’s actually the holy grail I agree. I have had similar luck with a piece of equipment but it wasn’t a tractor my Honda Foreman atv. I’ve had two of them for the last 25 years never saw a Dealer .

BUT... ...My Nissan Versa last year got a new transmission at 93k from a 10yr. / 100k upgraded warranty. We already own the vehicle (paid in full) and they increase the Warranty! Thanks, Nissan!!! Was a few months shy of 10 years... drives like new now.

I owned my last tractor for 12 years and the only repair other a couple of self imposed repairs was a fan belt so I would have wasted money on a warranty. My general policy is I don’t buy buy warranties. One day I’m sure I will get burned but hopefully I have saved more than enough money to cover a repair.

Nothing

Such a "program " is a figment of imagination.

The "cost" would be equal to a replacement tractor with every "failure".

Not a real world issue, and there is no amount of money that would provide 48 hour turn around.

Can I say it? GET REAL!

If you read the post it’s not a real dealership or manufacture it was just a concept an idea would you pay more money for that type of service your answer is no

None. I don’t care about warranty. More times than not it’s less hassle to just fix it myself and be on my way.

I never fall for the extended warranty or service plan. Everyone from Harbor Freight to appliances to automobiles to a $100k motor home transactions give you the “opportunity “ to buy these expensive add ones.

They are simply profit centers for the dealers.

Not worth a penny to me.

If I start running into repetitive failures with something, it goes down the road and I buy something else.

Wagtail - post#5. +++. It's the reason I've stayed with the same dealership for 38+ years.

I bought a new cover for my Hot tub. A little worried about dealing with an unknown entity but they offered a 7 year warranty so I figured it was safe. Outfit was two hours away.

Reading the warranty, it was pro-rated to almost nothing on year 7 and a hefty reduction even at year one, plus you pay for transporation. Bunch of other disclaimers too. I did find a small hole on the underside from new. Warranty wasn't worth th paper it was written on.

Company was in some large industrial building without signage, operating various company names at that address. They probably close a business every few years to get around employee injury (WSIB) claims and get out of warranty or liability claims.

-0- I have a 22 year old Kubota tractor and a 15 year old Kubota zero turn mower, both bought new, neither has been back to the dealer for any warrantee or service work. Same for my past 7 Hondas. I'm loyal to my dealers for future buys and maint items.

I wouldn't pay extra for it but....When or if tractors get as thick as automobiles it will probably work just like the OP's thoughts.
