I've never done this before.
I understand swapping side to side (to keep the tread design pointed in the right direction), however, the concept of 'turning around' the inner part of the wheel to get maximum 'narrowness' gives me pause.
It's around 64" currently...anyone know if I can tweak it down to 54" or so?

If you have the frame and fender clearance it should work. I don't have a clue how narrow you can go though.

What he wrote.

My M4700 with 14.9 28 rears goes from 52" to 67.7"

But when adjusted down to the narrowest it rubbed the fender.

I rushed back to my 3215 owner's manual...looked twice...no such luck on an equivalent chart. However yours appears close to what I've got...and helps to explain disc/rim/tire.
So, it's on to lifting the back to get the tires off. Can I put a 6x6 across the frame and lift from the back with a Clark 5000 forklift? or can I lift from the rear axle in the same manner?

Remember, the front axle pivots, the rear axle doesn't. For example, if you lift the rear axle completely off the ground and remove one wheel/tire, that side is now lighter than the other, and the tractor can tip over to the heavier side.

You will need to make sure it's stable. If it has a FEL, lower the bucket to the ground for added stability. Lift the rear axle until the tires just clear the ground. IF you use your forklift, I would suggest that you block under the rear axle on both sides.

Geez...never would have thought...
So, FEL on the front, and 2 point pick on the back, no just under the diff?

For stability sake I would keep the wheels as wide as possible. Unless there is a specific reason such as getting between vineyard rows or into a stall etc. Also remember if you want to keep the same track as the rears you would need to change the fronts also. Good luck!

We have 7' (84"), vineyard rows, currently 64" tractor width at the rears...narrower up front. To that I have to add 12" to the width for a side mount in-row cultivator (gets the weeds between the vines)...that's 76". The 8" of 'safety' doesn't seem to work, thus I'm hoping I'll get the 64" down to 56" or some such.

I'll post how it turns out once I figure out how to muscle on of those liquid filled tires.
