I bought my JD 4120, in 2005, from a large dealer that was running a special at the county fair. They were about 50 miles away and I never returned after the original purchase. I have been to a smaller dealer that is 2 miles from our place (8) times for oil filters (I have about 900 hours on it now). The local dealer only carries lawn and garden and compacts, while the larger dealer also carries the big ag stuff. Part of the reason I went with a large compact, rather than a small ag tractor, was so that I could get parts close and fast if need be. Fortunately, I have needed very little outside of scheduled maintenance. I did replace the battery with one from TSC, and the starter with an aftermarket one that I ordered on-line.

Purchased my 2016 massey new. Used the dealer once. I do all my own maintenance. I get my filters and **** through them. Good guys

Same as most here. I like the branded filters and maintenance parts and find that the dealer prices are not much more $$ in comparison. So my dealer gets my business on fluids, filters, replacement parts and they also stock a bunch of other things. I've bought some Stihl equipment from them, safety gear, canned fuel, etc. They are just as close as the box stores, so its no stretch to get the quality items from them.

I went to local dealer today to get oil and filters. Tractor was bought in KY. Messicks would have saved me around $17 for the 3 filters, but shipping was $16 so it was a wash. I live about 45 minutes from a Messicks dealer, so I do get from them at times.
