Recently bought a Mackissic wood chipper that I run on the back of Kubota B7510. I'm very happy with it so far....

How often should I have to sharpen the knives on the chipper?

Or how do I notice when they're getting dull? Can I just say, generally, every 10 hours or so?

Thanks!

Not sure really if there's any hard and fast 'rule of thumb', but it makes a huge difference when chipping soft and green vs. hard and dry wood. Didn't take long at all to dull up the blades in my little chipper when I fed it the latter. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
