Since I own press to crimp hydraulic hoses, I use to wait until it breaks before I replace the hoses

Yes and the tools costs often a fortune, but if one calculates lost work time and travel costs to get a new hose (I have an hour drive each way to the nemeste place that has the equipment) then it does not take long to save in the investment
