Have a steep hill drive to plow. I wonder how safe is 4110 with chains? Do I want front and back chains. Hate to buy a set of chains
and slide down my drive out of control while crying "How could I be so stupid?" Or worse. I have industrial tires and that worries
me. I store tractor under house with a slant down ramp of concrete. One winter I tried to take out tractor and couldn't climb ramp.
It just spun on ice and snow. Worse yet I'm thinking a box blade would do trick. Question: Is this a hair brained idea?
Back years ago, I would put chains on my car
in maybe 5 minutes per side. My 70 Impala would climb my hill like a dozer. $$ were short so I never
had luxury of 4wd. My wife had a Camero. My car was snow car. Now I got all wheel drive car, suv and 4wd pick up.
For last 20 yrs I had an old rusty Blazer with plow that worked. Used only for plowing deep
snow for me and neighbor. It finally rusted apart, plow don't go up & down good and lots of other bad stuff. But, every winter it started
right up with good battery. This year it's done. In fact this summer some snakes set up housekeeping in it. So now
I said,"How about my tractor?"
I am thinking it might work because of how good chains worked on my car. But, as I learned in past, sometime where
safety might be a concern, its good to ask as I have no winter experience.
