I just sold my B7610 and bought a used B7800. Maybe I didn't do my "due diligence" but the LA402 bucket on the B7800 operates differently than my old LA352 bucket.

With the LA402 bucket, when I am lowering the bucket, I first must pass through the float position before the bucket lowers under power. The LA352 bucket worked just the opposite. It would power down then, if you pushed the lever further forward, it would float. This seems like the correct operation to me.

Also, when I heaped the LA402 bucket full with dirt, the bucket wouldn't raise higher than about 4 feet off of the ground. Do I have a hydraulic pump problem or is this a design feature?

I would defintely think that something is wrong there.

First, you should not have to go through float to get to "power lower". If that is the case, does the load drop quickly and then jerk to an almost stop when getting in the the "power lower" section?

Secondly, should be able to lift the load to the full height of the loader, assuming that the weight in the bucket is a reasonable amount and not more than its capacity. Are you able to raise the bucket the whole way when its empty? Perhaps you are low on fluid and its causing some funny characterstics when operating?

It should operate just like the one on your previous tractor. There is something wrong. Check to see if the color coded dust caps match and hook the hoses up accordingly if they don't. Also if the 3ph lever is not in the center (neutral) the loader acts funny. In any case let us know when you get it worked out. Best of luck solving the problem.

Is the control a 3 way or 4 way?????? If 4 way the regen is first on the bucket then power.

Well, I checked the hydraulic fluid level and I checked to make sure that all of the hoses were hooked up correctly. Everything looks good.

So, I tried it again and....... it works fine!?

Maybe the problem was what Easygo suggested - that the 3ph lever was not in the center/neutral position causing it to act weird.

Anyhow, I'll watch it and see what happens.

Thanks, all.
