I have a 1989 Ford 1920 that does not have any remotes.
I would like to add a two spool valve assy., but cannot seem to make an after market adapter plate work.
I bought a nice looking ($96) aluminum aftermarket (specifically advertised as fitting the 1920) adapter plate that attaches to the right side of the hydraulic case.
I removed the factory plate, and replaced it with the after market adapter plate. The plate fits fine!
I plugged all the adapter plate openings to test for leaks. I did not hook up the Prince 2 spool valve assy.
Now: with the adapter plated mounted (no hoses, just 3 plugs), the 3pt hitch will not work!
The aftermarket adapter is HV4945.
The 3 adapter plate openings are described as "pressure", "power beyond", and "return".
Testing, with a jumper line from "pressure" to "return" (and power beyond capped) still keeps the 3pt hitch inoperative.
The exact same part is currently listed by another seller, on e-bay, as item # 142354701679.
Anybody know why this is, or what I might be doing wrong?
Thanks for your thoughts!

Until you procure a power beyond capable spool valve, connect a hose to the pressure and power beyond ports to make the 3pt hitch work. DO NOT run with three plugs installled unless you have a desire to replace your hydraulic pump.

Edit: the PB port on your new plate supplies oil to the 3pt valve. Since you have installed the adapter plate you have not supplied flow to this port.

Thank you for the response.
Does that mean there is no way for me to add a remote, using that adapter plate, unless I sacrifice the use of the 3pt hitch function?
Is there another method for me to get hydraulic power to a remote valve?

No, you just need to respect the requirement that a successful installation will use a power beyond spool valve with three connections to the tractor. When there is no demand from a remote function oil will flow from the pressure port to the spool valve and back to the power beyond port of the plate and on to the 3pt valve. Installing a hose from the pressure port to the PB port on the plate accomplishes the same thing and allows you to use your tractor and 3pt until you choose and install your remote valve(s).

Edit: if you have a loader the connections between the loader valve and the diverter block are exactly what you need to duplicate using your new plate.

Thanks Rick.
Am searching around now for fittings to tap into lines from diverter block, to loader valve.

Do you have a suggestion for the valve I should use?
I have a Prince Wolverine MB21BB5C1, but this does not appear to be the correct style valve for my application.
Could you please provide more specific information so that I may be certain to order the correct valve.
I plan to order from Surplus Center if they have the type valve I need.
I need to be operate the new 3pt. tilt cylinder, and the existing loader function, but not simultaneously.

Why would you feel the need for a power beyond plate if you already have a loader/valve? Does your tractor hydraulics not resemble what's laid out in this diagram? If you currently have a loader and a dedicated valve, is it not connected to a diverter block similar to item 1 in the diagram? If that's the case, you have no need for another plate.

That ship has sailed. He has the plate, and I believe he had it installed when the thread was started. The valve requirement is the same either way.

Understood ....I think!
The power beyond plate was installed, but has been removed.
I have the Prince Wolverine MB21BB5C1 valve, but am told that if that valve is powered from the diverter block, both the loader speed, and the tilt cyl. speed will be cut in half.
Can you explain if the valve that I have will work without affecting loader operating speed?
If not, can you describe the name/style of the proper valve to use?
