I need to change to change the fuel filter on my Kubota B7500 which will require that the fuel line be purged, but I don't know how that is done. The engine began bogging down while cutting grass (60" cutting deck). When I disengage the deck, the engine pick up. When I engage it again, the engine starts to die out. I think its the fuel filter getting clogged up. The tractor was bought used a couple of years ago with about 540 hours on it and now has 600 hrs, so I don't know if the fuel filter element was ever cleaned or changed. I have a new element for it, but I am hesitant to remove the fuel bowl to change it out since I don't know how to bleed the fuel line afterwards. Any help would be appreciated.

Whenever I replaced or cleaned the element in my fuel filter on my B1700, I would...
1-turn the fuel cock to the off position
2- unscrew the bowl and replace the element
3- re-install the filter bowl
4-turn the fuel cock on
5- slightly loosen the bowl to allow the air to bleed out and fuel in
6- retighten

Crank engine to start

I replaced the filter many times and never had an issue

Post above is right but you NEED to buy a manual for the tractor as all that info is in there.

I have changed the filter on my B7500 several times without having to bleed the fuel line.
The fuel filter has all the appropriate check valves in it to allow you to change it without doing anything else. Just unscrew the sediment bowl, change the filter and re-install the sediment bowl. It will spill a small amount of fuel as you remove the filter, but not much.
Note: be careful to get the little O rings in correctly when you change the filter!

Should be a nut/bolt on discharge side of injection pump that will allow air out. Wait till fuel comes and close. Might have to turn engine over for this.

Thanks Kevin. I have been through the manual several times front to back. It says that line has to be bled after changing or cleaning the filter element, but does not offer a single word on how to do it.

I think it is somewhere in the maintenance section but not the filter change info.
