how to change belt on my Woods 990 & Fuse going out on Kubota L4240

All in one day

i was cutting at my church grounds today... On my L4240 and 2 things went wrong today..
I had been cutting with my Woods RM990 about 2 hrs and noticed it was not cutting the grass very good.. Tops were left
O me it was not cutting... I went up to the church got a guy to sit in and cut on the cutter and I saw all 3 spindells were moving..
I went cutting again and it was not making a full cut leaving un cut grass..

So I go up and take off the covers over the belt and belt was there.... I could pull the belt over a pully with my had not trying real hard..
Is there a site that will show me how to change the belt on the Woods 990?


Now before that happend My Kubota L4240 last week just died while I was cutting the grass..
I called a guy he tells me your fuse went out change the fuse... It was the top 5amp fuse
So today it happen 3 times just went dead... Once it went dead 5 min apart..
Can somebody fill me in on why this is happening and how do I fix it

tighten the belt, look for pulley that is adjustable to tighten it

The adjuster spring is broke on the mower and you must have a short in a wire to be blowing the fuse. Like maybe a wire that hits the frame now and then.

I found a pic Im at work tonight till 7am (steel mill) will go by... I will look around for wires
what u say makes sense it happens ever now and then cause it does happen when I get a hard bump..
how is the best to do that just look I guess but what you say

That is what it was the spring is broke in half.. I got the Ibolt off. NOw tHE other pulley you take the bolt off but that pulley is not coming up. How do I get that off looks like that bolt has to come out.

You should not have to pull any pulley to change a belt. The pulley has a split hub, you have to use a puller and 1/4" bolts to pull the split hub 1st. I well get on my other computer to look at the parts list to make sure, so hold tight for a while. It's been 3 or 4 years the last time I took one off and I better make sure I tell you right, some split hubs all you do is to screw bolts into the hub and they push the hub out.

It did come off when loseing the nut I pulled the whole pulley over and was able to take off the pulley and remove the other half of the broken spring which was UNDER the pulley attached to the addler arm
Thank everybody for helping me on this.. Now ot find out what is shorting out the tractor with a wire touching the frame

Figure out what the fuse does and start looking at wires. Look in obvious spots firs were the wires could wear or get pinched.
